The BYU Honors Program offers exceptional opportunities for highly motivated students to pursue academic work that enhances their interests and abilities. The program is campus wide, encompassing all undergraduate colleges.
The Honors Program is deeply committed to a liberal arts education, encouraging students to become immersed in great works of literature, art, music, theater, science, technology, and film. Most honors courses fulfill core requirements. These courses are taught in intentionally small class sections that offer students one-on-one discussions with some of the university’s most distinguished faculty. Additionally, honors students have the opportunity to complete a service project, to participate in Honors Program social activities, and to capstone their disciplinary focus with an honors thesis based on research or creative work within their specific major.
