You can calculate your equivalent ACT score using one of the tables below. The table you use depends on which semester you are applying for and when you took the SAT (a new SAT was released in March 2016).

Use table 1 if: you are applying to begin in Winter 2019 or later, AND took the SAT on or after
March 1, 2016.

*The maximum SAT score listed is 1600 opposed to the standard 2400 which includes the writing section.

Note: Currently, BYU does not require the writing section of the ACT. We will, however, pay particular attention to applicants’ writing ability as demonstrated by the essay portion of the admission application.
